Not every book title catches my attention as quickly as “The End of Your Life Book Club” by Will Schwalbe. The question of why we should read books at the end of life is seldom explored. Schwalbe’s true story of how he and his mother formed a 2-person book club, after her terminal diagnosis, beautifully shows just how rich and life-giving reading together can be. Their reading adventures and subsequent deep reflections, leading to an even stronger bond between mother and son was beyond heartwarming. I would love to have a similar experience with my sons at the end of my life. Also, being a member of Lake County Library’s ADA (Aging, Death and Afterlife) book club, my fellow members have found great inspiration in exploring these topics together and welcome others to join us. Check out this book at your local Lake County Library.
Until the book ends,
