New volunteer coordinator starts at Hospice
Hospice Services of Lake County welcomes Hedy Montoya as its new volunteer coordinator. In this role Montoya will be responsible for recruiting, training and mentoring volunteers from the community to offer support to patients and their families under hospice care. Montoya comes to Hospice with ten years’ experience as regional director of Catholic Charities in Lake County, ten years as the coordinator of Spirit of the Season, a south county holiday program, and coordinator of the Rural Food Project, which fed approximately 1,000 people per month. Hospice depends on its volunteers for respite care for caregivers, patient visits, supporting the Wings of Hope family bereavement camps, working in its thrift stores and providing clerical and office support.
