Hospice Voices – Lessons for the Living at the End of Life – Eric Linder

Having sat with many hospice patients as a volunteer, I always find it refreshing to read books written by fellow volunteers! A volunteer, unlike medical staff or administrative staff, has a unique opportunity to provide services that paid staff simply haven’t time to do. “Hospice Voices- Lessons for the Living at the End of Life,” written by attorney and entrepreneur Eric Linder, not only offers wisdom from the dying, but also an intimate view of his own family stories and his personal growth throughout the process.  A wrap-up of “Do’s and Don’t’s” for hospice volunteers expanded my view of hospice in ways I had not yet explored. This must read book confirmed that I love being a student in this great school of life, and hospice programs are among the best courses to attend! Check this book out at your local Lake County Library. Also, consider becoming a hospice volunteer! For me it was a decision I will never regret.

Until the book ends,
