Aside from being chock full of great information, end-of-life planning books often showcase an author’s ability to organize topics. “Good to Go – A Guide to Preparing for the End of Life,” by Jo Myers, presents a refreshing “A to Z” perspective, with topics after each letter of the alphabet. Examples such as B-for Bones of Contention to I- for Independence Issues, carefully highlight topics that may be overlooked when making end-of-life plans. Each chapter leads with the author’s family stories along with interwoven “Tips and Notes.”
Ms. Myers does a fantastic job of sharing very personal stories with grace and humor you’re sure to enjoy. The book doesn’t have to be read cover to cover. I’d suggest exploring the table of contents and choosing which concepts resonate for you. I first chose J-for Jewelry Junkie which inspires me to evaluate my small jewelry collection as I wonder…hmm, should I sell or gift it all before I “go?”
Sorry to report that although Lake County Library doesn’t appear to have this book, it is available on Amazon.
